VUE is a premier optical destination providing eye exams, contacts and unique eyewear collections in the heart of downtown Olympia. Annie and Brandy, Licensed Dispensing Opticians, provide eyewear consulting and optical services at VUE, while Dr. Jeske provides comprehensive eye exams, prescribes licenses and manages medical eye conditions.
Years Downtown:
VUE, located in the New Caldonia Building, opened April 2010, although Dr. Jeske has provided high quality, compassionate eye care since 1995 at Tumwater Eye Center.
Little Known Facts:
The Jeskes are big fans and supporters of Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia (SOGO) and Pope John Paul II High School.
Our Story:
Doug and Karen Jeske met at Ellensburg High School and got married during college at WSU where Doug earned a degree in mechanical engineering. After six years in the corporate sector, Doug left engineering with the goal of becoming an optometric physician while Karen completed her masters degree in physical therapy. They aspired to go into private practice and develop a thriving eye care business. After Dr. Jeske completed a residency at American Lake Veterans Hospital, the Jeskes moved to Olympia in 1994. Doug began working with other doctors in a variety of clinic settings, then opened Tumwater Eye Center in 1995. Tumwater Eye Center continues to be a growing practice. Opening VUE provides a new opportunity for the Jeskes to serve the downtown community providing the most current eyewear and newest technology in lenses and lens treatments. Along the way, they added a business owner in training – their son Addison.
