TIM KOEHLER
SELDENS HOME FURNISHINGS
An Olympia owned family business furnishing Northwest homes for over 60 years.
Years Downtown:
1947 to present
Little Known Fact:
Owner Tim Koehler received a degree in fisheries management from the University of Washington and did sampling for the Department of Fisheries and Game Department until 1978 when he joined his father at Seldens.
Our Story:
Seldens opened in downtown Olympia in 1947. Seldens had three location prior to moving to its current location in 1965. Seldens originally started as a floor covering store. It soon offered appliances and custom window coverings. When the store moved to its current location, home furnishings of all types were added and their slogan became, “We turn houses into homes”.
What I Love About Olympia:
The downtown and its close proximity to Capital Lake and Puget Sound with the marinas and restaurants.
