Years Downtown:
Buck’s Fifth Avenue has been open downtown since 1973.
Little Known Fact:
We are the only spice shop in the world where everything we stock is because of a request of a customer.
We sell to restaurants, hospice cooks, caterers, special events for school, etc.
We are the only spice shop in the world that sells just what a recipe calls for. People from all over the world send us recipes. We send them by mail just what they need. Most of our inventory is not found in stores anywhere. We do carry ordinary spices as well. All big stores send us customers. Our prices are one eighth of the price of any other store.
We do not answer the phone when waiting on a customer. Customers have our full attention.
My Story:
I moved to Olympia in 1968 before the Evergreen State College was established. I have been an innovator for retail ever since.
What I Love About Olympia:
I love the diversity of Olympia and its surroundings.
